I am from a large family (10 siblings) and grew up on a dairy farm outside of Coon Valley. I graduated from Westby High School. I worked for 14 years at Ridgeview Inn Restaurant to pay my way through college. I was hired by the St. Mary's Parish, between Cashton and Norwalk, as the 6 - 8 grade teacher of all subjects. I worked there for 4 years. The last two years I was also the principal. I was then hired by CESA 6 for the position in Horicon. I have done a lot of traveling: New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, and Europe. I enjoy gardening, reading, and painting.
I was a Special Education Teacher for 22 years at Horicon High School, 4 years as teacher/administrator for Project SEARCH in Green Bay which was set at St. Vincent and Bellin Hospitals, and this is my 3rd year at Aquinas High School.
Academic Resource is there for those who need further assistance on assignments. It is open to all students. When in resource, students are quietly working and will receive 1:1 assistance on the topic they are working on.
Paraprofessional who teaches basically all subjects.
Throughout my now 29 years in education, especially those with special needs, I have learned various techniques to present information to students. Every student is a unique learner and I figure out what works best for their learning. It is a challenging yet extremely rewarding career.
