Educational Background: 
I earned my Master's degree in Counseling Education, school counseling track, from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2016.  I completed my B.A. in writing at Northland College in Ashland, WI.  I also spent a year studying graduate-level creative writing at the University of Idaho-Moscow.  
  
Educational Experience:
 In the 2016-17 school year, I served as the school counselor at St. Mary's Catholic School (K-8) in Bird Island, MN.  I interned at Cathedral School in Superior and several schools in Duluth during my school counselor training.   I have also worked in the residence hall at St. John's Preparatory High School in Collegeville, MN.  Growing up, I attended public school in the Maple School District.  

Class:
Guidance

PK has guidance class once a month.
K-3 have 30 minutes of guidance each 6 days.  
Grades 4-6 have 45 minutes each 6 days.

Guidance focuses on the virtue of the month as well as social-emotional skills.

Services Provided:
In addition to guidance classes, I provide individual counseling, small group counseling to help students work on particular skills or goals, and consultation with parents and teachers.  All services support the students' ability to succeed and learn at school, by helping to address children's personal, social, and developmental needs.  A counseling meeting is generally 15 minutes, but can be shortened or lengthened, during or after school, to best meet your needs.  Your privacy and comfort are very important to me.  Always feel free to contact me to see if there is anything I can do to support your child.  

Other Information:
My family is from the rural town of Maple in northern Wisconsin, near Superior.  I love tight-knit communities, backcountry camping, and exploring the opportunities for ice-skating, hiking, and canoeing that the Coulee Region offers.  Currently I live in north La Crosse.
