I teach art for students in grades 4K-6th at both St. Patrick's and Cathedral Schools. I've always been passionate about art and so it is a joy to spread that passion with the students I teach. I love all art forms, but I especially love working with clay. Currently I live on French Island with my husband and two cats. In my free time, I'm either making art, doing crossfit, or spending time with friends and family.
My art room is structured around the philosophy called TAB or Teaching for Artistic Behavior. The curriculum focuses on the student as the artist and enables them by teaching various materials, techniques, history, and methods in order for them to be successful creating art independently. You will find a lot of choice and freedom of exploration in my art room. You will also occasionally see projects that are required for all students to complete in order to highlight specific skills or techniques. These are called "have-to's. " For More examples of the art we create, visit our Artsonia sites at either of these links below: https: //www. Artsonia. Com/schools/school. Asp? Id=8960 https: //www. Artsonia. Com/schools/school.
