Hello and welcome to my classroom page! My Name is Mrs. Johanns and I have been a Catholic School teacher for 15 years - 7 years teaching 2nd grade and 8 years of experience teaching 3rd grade. I graduated from Regis High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and then from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. I taught for 14 years at St. Anthony Catholic School in Des Moines, Iowa before moving back to Wisconsin in May of 2018. I am married to my husband, Adam, and we have a 3 year old girl named Annelise. We reside in the country near Chaseburg. I love spending time with my family outside hiking and exploring new nature places, traveling and watching and playing sports. I have a passion for history, genealogy, and reading historical fiction. I love teaching in a Catholic School. There is no other place I would rather be.
I believe my classroom is a safe and positive environment for all students. At the beginning of the year, I feel it is important to form a solid relationship with each student and also establish expectations which are revisited throughout the year. With my students, I discuss what is means to have a "growth mindset" throughout the year and believe in the power of "yet. "
