Born in La Crosse, we moved to a farm outside of Coon Valley, WI when I was nine. There were eight of us kids. I volunteered at St. Mary's playing music, teaching CCD, preparing a Christmas pageant and First Communion. I worked for 12 years in several different pharamacies before getting into teaching. I always wanted to be a librarian.
Students come to the library excited to check and out read. We also study media skills such as evaluating websites, how to use a library, how to use the Internet. In computer classes, students start learning Touch Typing keyboarding skills starting in 3rd grade. They also learn to use technology terminology, use computer programs for school projects and research. Digital citizenship is a must in our classroom and school. Respect for all students and technology is a priority.
