Dear Alumni and Friends of Aquinas Schools,
Aquinas High School is celebrating 80 years of faith and excellence! I'm
proud to have finished my first year as Principal of Aquinas High School and
to have worked with a great staff. I would like to thank the many friends
who have given their support to our school and mission through your prayers
and gifts. Aquinas Schools continue to gain strength through our partnership
with the Catholic elementary schools in the La Crosse area. The Aquinas Catholic Schools system has over 1,000 students enrolled and is providing
the best education in the area.
Our teaching staff at Aquinas continues to be our greatest asset. French
teacher Mike Drake has finished his 40th year of teaching in Catholic
schools, and he plans on teaching for several more. His dedication and drive
is an example to the rest of our staff at Aquinas. Math teacher Chuck
Schmidt and Social Studies teacher Dan Coughlin combine for over 75 years of
service. The Class of 2008 had two Valedictorians - Jacob Inda and Mary
Steuck tied for the honor. The Olympathon winners for 2007-08 included Sam
Pederson and Katie Schill. Our seniors finished with numerous state
championships and runner-ups. Congratulations to all our seniors!
Please consider supporting our Foundation efforts throughout the year in
growing our endowment, scholarship, and operation funds. Aquinas continues
to rely on their support. We have many needs for our students, and we need
your support! As always, please feel free to stop by the school when you're
in town. I think you would be very proud of today's Aquinas.
God Bless,
Ted Knutson ('80)
